Conference preview| Bioworkshops invited to attend the BIONNOVA Biopharmaceutical Innovation Focus Conference

Addtime: Jan 18 , 2021

20-21 January 2021. The BIONNOVA Biopharmaceutical Innovation Focus Exhibition will be held at the Crowne Plaza Shanghai Pujiang hotel. Bioworkshops has been invited to provide a technical presentation and will attend the trade show at booth number A16. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss the development of biopharmaceutical technology.

The biopharmaceutical industry full of opportunities with the rapid development of biopharmaceutical research and development, new technologies constantly being introduced, and more biological products speeding toward of commercialization. The BIONNOVA Biopharmaceutical Innovation Focus Conference provides a platform for decision makers concerned with transforming of the biopharmaceutical industry, and will bring together industry leaders from the enterprises and research institutions at the forefront of scientific development. Together they will address the latest technology applications in upstream and downstream bioprocessing, unshackling constraints for commercial production, exploring digital transformation methods, and driving downs the costs of biopharmaceuticals.

Dr. Alex Zhu, Director of Cell Culture at Bioworkshops, has been invited to speak and will give a talk on the topic “Challenges and Optimization Strategies in the Upstream Cell Culture Process”. Antibody products have become a leading category of biological drugs due to their high specificity, strong targeting, relatively mild side effects and remarkable efficacy. In addition to their desirable pharmacological qualities, the ability to rapidly develop robust production processes to advance mAb candidates into clinical trials is also a key factor in the successful progress of mAb projects.

As an important branch of chemical engineering, the core research content of cell culture process can also be neatly summarized as “three transfers and one reaction”. That is, momentum transfer, heat transfer, mass transfer and one reaction. Dr Zhu’s presentation will focus on the technical challenges posed by momentum and mass transfer in the cell culture process of biopharmaceuticals, combining the mechanisms behind them with case studies to explore strategies for optimization.
